Eid al-Adha Message of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan

Eid al-Adha Message of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan

Respected compatriots, Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate, and all Muslims around the world;

Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

First of all, I extend my congratulations to you on the arrival of Eid al-Adha. Eid Mubarak to you all.

May Allah Almighty accept the sacrifices, Eid prayers, supplications, charities, and good deeds of all Muslims. In particular, may Allah accept the Hajj, Umrah, Tawaf, and all righteous deeds of those Muslims who have gone to the Holy House of Allah this year to perform the great pilgrimage. May Allah, through their prayers, remove the current hardships of Muslims and instead bring blessings upon the entire Muslim world. Ameen, O Lord of the worlds.

Respected brothers!

These blessed days of Hajj, Eid al-Adha, and sacrifice carry important messages. Every year, millions of Muslims from all parts of the world gather for Hajj and stand in one row before Allah Almighty without distinction of race, country, language, or color. This reminds us that Muslims, while believing in one Allah, are followers of one Prophet (Muhammad, peace be upon him) and believers in one Book (the Holy Qur’an). Therefore, they must uphold unity and solidarity in all aspects of life.

At present, many of the problems and hardships faced by Muslims are due to disunity and selfishness. Therefore, all Muslims—from household and village life to national and global levels—must prioritize unity, cooperation, and mutual support, and protect themselves from selfishness, hatred, and envy.

Likewise, the duty of sacrifice should keep alive within us the spirit of selflessness and devotion. Just as Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) prepared to sacrifice his son Ismail (peace be upon him) with complete sincerity for the pleasure of Allah, similarly every Muslim should place the commands of Allah above their life, children, wealth, and personal desires. Whenever sacrifice for the sake of religion is required, they must step forward with complete sincerity.

To the respected officials of the Islamic Emirate:

It is necessary that you make good use of these days of Eid by checking on the families of martyrs, the disabled, and orphans in your respective areas.

Likewise, in your interactions and gatherings with the general public, you should listen to their advice, complaints, and problems so that you may benefit from them in improving your work. You should convey the message of sincerity, compassion, and sympathy of the Islamic Emirate to the people, and inform them that we are striving with all our strength to work for their worldly and hereafter welfare.

By the grace of Allah, Islamic laws have been implemented in the country, security has been established, and development works are ongoing. We must further strive to provide better services for the comfort and well-being of the people.

The Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate and the security and defense forces who are guarding the borders, highways, and cities deserve great reward from Allah for their efforts. My instruction to them is that they should remain attentive to their duties even during the blessed days of Eid so that our suffering people can celebrate Eid in peace and happiness.

In recent days, millions of migrants have returned from neighboring countries, and many others have been displaced due to earthquakes and floods. A large number of our fellow citizens are also living in poverty for various reasons. The Islamic Emirate is assisting them to the best of its ability and will continue to do so. However, through this message, I also urge all citizens not to forget the needy and to help them according to their means during these blessed days so that they do not feel deprived.

In conclusion, once again I extend Eid greetings to all Muslim brothers, especially the faithful and Mujahid nation of Afghanistan, and I pray that Allah Almighty grant them continuous Eids filled with peace, happiness, and brotherhood under the shade of an Islamic system.

Ameen.

And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

H.E. Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund
