With profound sorrow, we have received the news that last night, due to an earthquake in Samangan, Balkh, Baghlan, Kunduz, and several other provinces, a number of our fellow Afghans have been martyred, many others injured, and numerous homes destroyed, resulting in considerable material losses.
Indeed, we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan expresses its heartfelt sympathy to the affected families, prays for Jannat al-Firdaus for the martyrs, a swift recovery for the injured, and extends its condolences to their families and relatives.
Likewise, all relevant institutions, including responsible officials of the Islamic Emirate, are hereby directed to urgently deliver medical, food, and other essential assistance to the affected areas, to make every effort to rescue remaining individuals, and to take necessary measures concerning housing, tents, and other related needs.
We beseech Almighty Allah to protect us all from such calamities in the future and to grant patience and great reward to those affected by the earthquake last night.
