The Message of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan on the Occasion of World Red Crescent Day

The Message of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan on the Occasion of World Red Crescent Day

Altruism, empathy, and benevolence, as well as mutual assistance and support in endeavors, are considered the noblest acts both in terms of religious merit and ethical virtues, among the grand qualities of humanity.

We are obligated to stay informed about each other's well-being, to express empathy and maintain family ties, to aid the impoverished and needy, elevate the needs of the destitute, and assist them to the best of our abilities.

Considering our nation has endured over four decades of conflict and insecurity, with our people enduring considerable suffering and hardship, our society necessitates mutual support, empathy, and collaborative assistance among its constituents.

On the occasion of World Red Crescent Day, it is paramount to acknowledge the vital and weighty responsibility borne by such aid organizations in Afghanistan. While our populace has emerged from conflict and benefited from relative security, the scars and wounds of war persist. Millions of our compatriots reside either internally or externally displaced. We have a considerable number of disabled individuals, orphans, widows, and impoverished fellow citizens in need of assistance and support.

Therefore, aiding institutions bear the responsibility to escalate and expedite their aid efforts in sectors such as healthcare, economics, reconstruction, and others, compared to the past.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan acknowledges the efforts and services of all aid organizations, providing them with suitable grounds for operation, serious attention to their security and well-being, and timely addressing of their concerns.

On the occasion of World Red Crescent Day, I call upon all financially capable compatriots, institutions, and aid organizations to firmly support the Afghan Red Crescent. The Afghan Red Crescent, being at the forefront among all aid agencies in the country, has rendered significant services to deliver aid to the destitute citizens and continues its operations across all regions of the nation. Supporting the Afghan Red Crescent essentially means supporting the impoverished, homeless, and needy inhabitants of the country, which is a collective responsibility for all of us.

Finally, I express gratitude to all aid institutions and their activities, including the Afghan Red Crescent, and wish them further success in their noble endeavors.

Alhaj Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund
