The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan once again expresses its gratitude to the Republic of Türkiye and the State of Qatar, our brotherly nations for hosting and mediating the talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan in Istanbul.
Representatives of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, acting under the special directive of the leadership, participated in the Istanbul talks for two consecutive days (November 6 and 7) in good faith and with full authority. This participation was based on the hope that, following internal consultations, the Pakistani side would this time demonstrate seriousness, responsibility, and constructive intent in seeking a fundamental resolution to the issues at hand, and would engage in the talks with realistic and actionable proposals.
Unfortunately, during the discussions, the Pakistani side sought to transfer all responsibilities concerning its own security onto the Afghan government, while showing no willingness to assume any responsibility for either Afghanistan’s security or its own.
The irresponsible and non-cooperative attitude of the Pakistani delegation prevented the achievement of any tangible outcome, despite the goodwill of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the efforts of the mediators.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan reiterates its principled position that it will not permit anyone to use Afghan territory against another country, nor will it allow any country to engage in actions or provide support from its territory that undermine Afghanistan’s national sovereignty, independence, and security.
The Muslim people of Pakistan are brothers to the Afghans. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan maintains sincere intentions and aspirations for peace toward them and will continue to cooperate within the bounds of its responsibilities and capabilities.
The defense of the Afghan people and homeland is both an Islamic and national duty of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, and it will resolutely defend against any aggression with the help of Allah and the support of its people, Inshallah
