The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, H.E. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, inaugurated the second phase of the Kabul Folad Melting Factory during his visit to Herat Province. The ceremony took place in the Herat Industrial Park.
In his remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that since the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate, both regional and several international partners have taken practical steps to enhance their economic relations with Afghanistan, and these efforts continue to expand.
He emphasized that the Islamic Emirate has placed special focus on the development of domestic industries and, to this end, has initiated major electricity generation and power import projects to support industrial growth.
The Deputy Prime Minister also encouraged national and foreign investors to invest in Afghanistan, assuring them of the Islamic Emirate’s full cooperation and support in facilitating their ventures.
An investment of 20 million USD has been made in the second phase of the Kabul Folad Melting Factory, which now has the capacity to process 500 tons of iron per day.
