Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs Meets with Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan

This afternoon, His Excellency, Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, convened a meeting with Mawlavi Sardar Ahmad Shaqib, Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to Pakistan.

At the outset, Ambassador Mawlavi Sardar Ahmad Shaqib presented a comprehensive report to the Deputy Prime Minister on the operational activities, responsibilities, and strategic initiatives of the Afghan Embassy in Pakistan, alongside an assessment of the current conditions of Afghan refugees in the country.

He underscored that the Afghan diplomatic mission in Islamabad, along with consulates in other Pakistani cities, remains actively engaged in mitigating the difficulties and impediments confronting Afghan refugees.

The Ambassador further stated that, in alignment with the directives of the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, efforts are underway to enhance bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

In response, H.E Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi extended his welcome to the Ambassador and underscored that Pakistan and Afghanistan, as two neighboring Muslim nations, share profound cultural, historical, religious, and social affinities. He emphasized that officials from both nations should capitalize on these commonalities to fortify and expand cooperation in economic, political, and cultural spheres.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs reaffirmed the Islamic Emirate’s unwavering commitment to supporting Afghan refugees in Pakistan, stressing that the Afghan Embassy and consulates in Islamabad and other Pakistani cities must exert all efforts to resolve the challenges confronting Afghan refugees and citizens residing in the country.
