Eighth Cabinet Meeting Reviews Railway Gauge Standards and Expedites Land Distribution for Refugees

H.E. Al-Haj Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, chaired the eighth cabinet meeting of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan today.

The meeting commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by deliberations and resolutions on key economic, social, and cultural matters of national importance.

During the session, the Cabinet approved the delegation’s report concerning the determination of the gauge (width) for the New Afghan Trans railway line from Hairatan to Spin Boldak. It was resolved that the gauge shall be set at 1,520 mm, while also taking into consideration the 1,435 mm gauge.

Furthermore, it was decided that the Head of the High Commission for Refugees, Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, should summon the refugee committees and conduct a comprehensive review of their activities to accelerate the land distribution process and ensure that eligible individuals receive land as soon as possible. Likewise, all obstacles that have delayed the process in some areas should be identified.

It is worth mentioning that the cabinet meeting concluded with a prayer for goodwill, following detailed discussions and resolutions on several issues.
