The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, inaugurated the 29th Autumn Exhibition of Agricultural Products

On the 18th of October, the 29th Autumn Exhibition of Agricultural Products commenced, inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund. The event, held at Badam Bagh Research Farm in Kabul, drew a notable audience, including Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, Maulvi Ataullah Omari, foreign diplomats, national business leaders, farmers, as well as numerous civil officials.

During his address at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Baradar Akhund underscored the pivotal role of agriculture in Afghanistan, emphasizing that official statistics reveal the majority of the population is engaged in agricultural and livestock activities. Regrettably, many still rely on outdated methods, leading to limited progress.

Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Baradar Akhund went on to highlight that antiquated irrigation systems hinder agricultural productivity. He called upon the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock to facilitate modernization of agriculture, promote the adoption of contemporary irrigation methods, and take other tangible steps in this direction.

Moreover, he stressed the importance of enhancing the domestic infrastructure for the collection, storage, packaging, delivery and marketing of agricultural products. Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Baradar Akhund urged the concerned ministries and departments to shoulder the responsibility for improving these aspects.

In conclusion, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs urged all citizens, including government agencies, to support the consumption of domestic agricultural products.

The 29th Autumn Exhibition of Agricultural Products, hosted at Badam Bagh Research Farm in Kabul, was organized to promote and market agricultural products domestically and internationally. The event featured hundreds of stalls showcasing a diverse array of agricultural products.
