H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met earlier today with a high-level delegation from the Kyrgyz Republic, led by Mr. Bakyt Sydykov, Minister of Economy and Trade of Kyrgyzstan.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Bakyt Sydykov stated that the purpose of his visit was to activate trade and economic relations between the two countries. He added that several Kyrgyz traders and investors accompanied him and expressed their interest in pursuing trade and investment opportunities in Afghanistan.
He also highlighted the inauguration of the Kyrgyzstan Trade Center in Kabul earlier today and expressed his appreciation for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s interest in fostering bilateral trade, as well as the continued cooperation of the relevant authorities in this regard.
The Minister of Economy and Trade of Kyrgyzstan further reaffirmed his country’s ongoing humanitarian support for the people of Afghanistan. He stated that Kyrgyzstan is eager to collaborate with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in areas such as e-governance, the printing of securities, the establishment of banking relations, and the development of electronic payment systems. He also emphasized that the development of bilateral trade relations is an important factor in strengthening the friendship between the two nations.
In response, H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi warmly welcomed Mr. Bakyt Sydykov and the accompanying delegation, noting that Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan share longstanding religious, historical, and cultural ties. He added that the expansion of economic and trade relations between the two countries reflects the deep and enduring friendship between both sides.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for Kyrgyzstan’s humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people and affirmed that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is prepared for all forms of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. He emphasized that the digitization of government systems and the establishment of bilateral banking channels are essential steps in strengthening collaboration between the two countries.
Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister also stated that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan seeks cordial relations based on mutual respect with all countries and will not permit any individual or group to use Afghan territory in a manner that threatens the security of other nations.
