His Excellency Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, attended and delivered a speech this morning at a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Education to mark the commencement of the 1405 academic year.
At the ceremony, which was also attended by a number of cabinet members and officials of the Islamic Emirate, the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs first expressed his appreciation to the leadership and officials of the Ministry of Education for organizing the event. He further extended his congratulations to the officials of the Ministry of Education, teachers, students, and their families on the commencement of the new academic year.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs stated that the leadership and officials of the Ministry of Education would make every effort to provide quality educational services in madrasas and schools across Afghanistan.
He also addressed the parents of students, stating that it is their responsibility to make sustained efforts toward the education and upbringing of their children, as the primary environment for education and upbringing is the family, which plays a fundamental role in shaping children through daily behavior and conduct.
Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi acknowledged the efforts and status of teachers and added that teaching is not merely an occupation, but an Islamic, moral, and national responsibility through which the children of this country are nurtured. He emphasized the need to give due attention to all levels of education (primary, secondary, and high school) and to strive to improve the quality of teaching for the better development of the country’s future generation.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs also addressed the students, urging them to make effective use of educational opportunities and to devote their valuable time to learning and education.
He further emphasized that students should also utilize their time after school in mosques and acquire knowledge of the Holy Qur’an and Islamic studies from religious scholars.
In conclusion, His Excellency Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi stated that the Islamic Emirate is committed to providing quality educational services to the children of this country. He also called upon the officials of the Islamic Emirate to undertake comprehensive efforts in the areas of curriculum development, teaching materials, laboratories, teacher capacity building, school monitoring, and the advancement of educational affairs.
