Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs meets with Iran's Ambassador and Special Envoy to Afghanistan

The Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, His Excellency Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, met today with the Ambassador and Special Envoy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Afghanistan, Mr. Hassan Kazemi Qomi, and his delegation at Spidar Palace.

During the discussions, Mr. Qomi provided a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing process of repatriating Afghan prisoners from Iran. He reiterated Iran's strategic commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and cultural domains.

Mr. Kazemi Qomi further outlined Iran’s endeavors to operationalize and expand the Chabahar Port to secure Afghanistan’s access to international waters.

The Iranian Special Envoy emphasized his country’s readiness to finalize incomplete healthcare initiatives in Afghanistan and proposed launching infrastructure and academic projects in Afghan universities.

H.E Mawlavi Abdul Kabir extended a formal welcome to the Iranian delegation and affirmed the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to building constructive diplomatic relations with all nations. He categorically emphasized that Afghan territory will not be used to harm any country.

H.E. Mawlavi Abdul Kabir described the visit by the Iranian Ministry of Justice delegation as highly beneficial and reaffirmed the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to cooperation with Iran.

In conclusion, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude to Iran for facilitating the repatriation of 1,000 Afghan prisoners and advocated for the continuation of this process.
