H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, visited the Barky Bridge project in Kabul, accompanied by the Mayor and other officials of the Islamic Emirate.
During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister closely reviewed the Barky Bridge project, receiving detailed updates from the engineers on construction stages and progress. They confirmed that work is advancing according to technical standards and the planned schedule, with full efforts dedicated to completing the project on time for the citizens of Kabul.
The Deputy Prime Minister praised the Kabul Municipality and project team for their efforts, noting that the bridge plays a key role in reducing traffic and improving mobility for residents. He urged that construction proceed swiftly while maintaining high-quality standards and emphasized the strict observance of safety and transparency throughout the project.
Notably, this bridge is part of the Kabul Municipality and Islamic Emirate’s urban development plan. It is being built in two sections: an underpass, 470 meters long and 20 meters wide, which is already 45% complete, and an overpass, which will begin construction once the underpass is finished. The total project cost is 762 million Afghanis, financed through the Kabul Municipality’s development budget.
