Deputy Prime Minister Visits Pul-e-Charkhi Detention Center

H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, today led a delegation of the Commission for Regulation of Organizational Structures and Salaries on a visit to the Pul-e-Charkhi Detention Center to assess the condition of all individuals held at the facility.

The delegation reviewed the detainees’ health conditions, service delivery, and legal and Sharia-related matters. It also discussed measures to strengthen administrative services, improve hygiene, ensure adequate water and food supplies, and better address the essential needs of detainees.

The delegation further inspected the healthcare services at the clinic, accommodation facilities, recreational areas, sanitation conditions, and other available amenities within the detention center.

The relevant authorities were instructed to treat detainees in accordance with Islamic Sharia and their legitimate rights, while taking practical measures to address their essential needs.

All individuals held at the detention center expressed their appreciation for the delegation’s visit and shared their suggestions and recommendations with the visiting delegation.
