The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, met with Turkmenistan’s National Leader, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During the meeting, discussions were held not only on the TAPI project but also on several other economic initiatives between the two countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister described the TAPI project as vital for the economies of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and other regional countries, and called on the Turkmen side to provide employment opportunities for Afghans in the implementation of the project.
The Turkmen side stated that, in accordance with the project’s operational procedures, a large number of Afghans would be provided with job opportunities and professional training. They added that they are also prepared to implement other major economic projects aimed at strengthening economic relations between Ashgabat and Kabul.
