The Economic Commission held its regular meeting today at the Marble Palace under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Al-Haj Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund.
At the meeting, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology presented, for discussion, the electronic system for managing official correspondence and administrative documents of Emirate institutions. Following a comprehensive evaluation, the system was approved, and the Ministry was instructed to implement it gradually.
With the implementation of this system, coordination among Emirate institutions will be strengthened; transparency, efficiency, and security will be enhanced; forgery, corruption, and waste of time will be prevented; the principles of accurate data management and accountability will be reinforced; and a fundamental step will be taken toward electronic governance. Significant facilities for clients have also been incorporated into this system.
The meeting also reviewed a report on 22 public welfare projects whose implementation had been ordered by His Highness, the Amir al-Mu’minin Sheikh Sahib (May Allah Almighty protect him), to be financed through mining revenues. Of these 22 projects, the Ministry of Finance has completed economic analyses for 13 projects, which were approved by the Economic Commission. The Commission issued instructions for these analyses to be shared with the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum and for the relevant institutions to begin practical work on these projects. These include construction, railway, and electricity transmission and distribution projects.
It is worth noting that, among the 22 public welfare projects, practical work has already commenced on nine projects, and progress has been made.
At the conclusion of the meeting, reports on several follow-up matters were presented, approved by the Economic Commission, and recommendations were issued to the relevant institutions regarding implementation.
These decisions were forwarded to the Office of His Highness, the Amir al-Mu’minin Sheikh Sahib (May Allah protect him), for final decision-making.
