The Plan for the Gulbahar Residential and Commercial Township Approved in Principle

His Excellency Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, chaired a meeting today at the Marmarine Palace.

During the meeting, the relevant authorities discussed the proposed plan for the construction of the Gulbahar Residential and Commercial Township.

Taking into consideration its urban development significance and economic value, the plan was approved in principle. A committee, under the leadership of the Economic Deputy Office, was appointed to carry out technical studies. The committee was tasked with conducting comprehensive assessments of all technical, economic, social, and environmental aspects and to submit its detailed report to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs within three months.

For the construction of the Gulbahar Residential and Commercial Township, the private sector has expressed interest in investing approximately eight billion US dollars. The project will be developed over an area of 11,000 jeribs and, in addition to providing housing for tens of thousands of citizens, will also create thousands of employment opportunities.
