The beggar collection committee, led by the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, has collected 7400 beggars from different areas of Kabul city until September 19, 2022. 4963 of the beggars that were collected were female, and after evaluation, 1296 of them were determined to be deserving, while 3667 others were found to be professional beggars. After evaluation, 190 of the 639 males were found to be deserving, and 449 of them were professional beggars. 1798 of them are children, of which 976 are deserving and 781 are professional beggars. Among the deserving beggar children, there are 41 unaccompanied children. After the biometrics, unaccompanied beggar children are admitted to the care and training center by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, and there they are provided with livelihood and education. The Afghan Red Crescent Society has begun distributing cash to deserving beggars, and hundreds of people have benefited so far.
