H.E. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, attended the turban-tying graduation ceremony of Jamiat-e Fath-ul-Uloom Kabul Madrasa.
The Deputy Prime Minister stated that madrasas are regarded as the sacred foundations of religious knowledge, jihad, Prophetic morals, spiritual and intellectual training, and Islamic movements within Islamic societies. He emphasized that respected religious scholars should use a softer and more measured language in preaching and from the pulpit, and alongside explaining religious obligations, they should also strengthen among the people the spirit of safeguarding the Sharia law-based government and national interests.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs added that in Afghanistan, the Islamic narrative regarding the obligation of sacred jihad emerged from madrasas, spread to villages and cities, and was transformed into practical action and confrontation that defeated large armies of disbelief.
The Deputy Prime Minister described the role of madrasas as highly significant in the intellectual reform of society, the elimination of un-Islamic cultures, and the preservation of Islamic narratives. He stressed that madrasas must, under all circumstances, remain steadfast on their original and fundamental path.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs congratulated the graduating Hafiz students of Jamiat-e Fath-ul-Uloom Kabul Madrasa and their families. He urged the graduates to act upon their knowledge, teach it to others, and interact with people in accordance with Prophetic morals and ethics.
