Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi, Chief of Staff of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, attended and delivered remarks this morning at Chahar Chanar Palace during the inauguration ceremony of the Progress website, the Afghanistan Media Information Guide, and the 100th issue of the Arg publication.
He commended the initiatives undertaken by the Office of the Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate for the timely sharing of information and achievements with the public and the media. He stated that the Islamic Emirate places particular importance on information management, public awareness, and the timely dissemination of information to the people.
He emphasized that, as a responsive government, the establishment of an organized system for conveying facts, informing the public about government actions, and countering enemy propaganda is essential. He described the Progress website as a credible platform for reflecting the government’s achievements.
He added that the Progress website serves as an information bank for accurate data and the official position of the system, and he called on the media to extend comprehensive cooperation.
Subsequently, the spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid, stated in his remarks that the Spokesperson’s Office, through the Government Media and Information Center, has established a comprehensive and reliable information bank and source for systematically publishing the Islamic Emirate’s achievements, developments, and information, as well as facilitating media access.
He further noted that with the establishment of these initiatives, enemy propaganda will be countered, and the achievements of the Islamic Emirate will be systematically assessed on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid called on officials and spokespersons of Emirate institutions to support this process by sharing the achievements and relevant information of their respective ministries and institutions with the Government Media and Information Center, and urged the media to utilize it as a credible source. He also emphasized the importance of providing suggestions, feedback, and cooperation with the Government Media and Information Center for the success of the Progress website, effective communication, and countering propaganda.
Later, Sheikh Noor-ul-Haq Anwar, Director General of Administrative Affairs, explained efforts to simplify administrative procedures aimed at ensuring accountability to the nation. He stated that these measures have helped reduce time wastage and corruption, and have strengthened transparency. He also urged the media to clearly communicate the responsibilities of institutions to the public and to cooperate in this regard.
Following that, Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister of Culture at the Ministry of Information and Culture, appreciated the efforts of the spokesperson’s office in reflecting the achievements of Islamic Emirate institutions to ensure access to accurate information for journalists and the public. He stated that instead of concealing issues or remaining silent, accurate information should be shared with the media and the public in a timely manner, and that responsible officials should regularly provide useful information to the media.
At the ceremony, Dr. Abdul Latif Nazari, Deputy Minister of Economy, described the Progress website, the Afghanistan Media Information Guide, and the 100th issue of the Arg publication as major achievements that provide accurate and well-organized information to the public.
He noted that in today’s era, the effective, transparent, and constructive use of media is essential to prevent adversaries from undermining government activities and achievements or creating a gap between the government and the people.
Hujatullah Mujaddedi, Head of the Afghanistan Free Journalists Union, expressed appreciation for the effective, foundational, and strategic measures taken by officials of the Islamic Emirate in supporting the media. He stated that under the rule of the Islamic Emirate, media activities are conducted in an organized and lawful manner in accordance with journalistic principles and regulations.
He added that the Commission for Preventing Media Violations has ensured the psychological and intellectual safety of the media, the Directorate of Access to Information has held coordination meetings with media, and various workshops and coordination sessions have been organized to guide media in support of national interests and Islamic and cultural values.
At the same event, Faridullah Mohammadi, Head of Tolo News TV, speaking on behalf of journalists, stated that the media have fulfilled their national responsibility in safeguarding national interests and called on the government to reduce the gap with the media by sharing information in a timely manner.
He added that Afghan media have effectively fulfilled their responsibility in countering enemy propaganda and conveying facts to the public, citing as a recent example the coverage during Pakistan’s aggression against Afghanistan, where realities were exposed and damages were reported to the public in a timely manner.
After the screening of an informational video about the Progress website, the Afghanistan Media Information Guide, and the 100th issue of the Arg publication, Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi, Sheikh Noor-ul-Haq Anwar, and Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid officially inaugurated the Progress website. The ceremony concluded with a closing prayer delivered by Mawlawi Mohammad Hashim Shaheed War, Head of Invitation and Guidance at the Office of the Prime Minister.
