Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, met with Uzbek National Security Council Advisor and Special Representative of the President for Foreign Policy

Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, met with Uzbek National Security Council Advisor and Special Representative of the President for Foreign Policy, Abdulaziz Kamilov and his accompanying delegation at Chahar Chinar Palace. The meeting focused on bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan; strengthening Afghanistan's ties with the international community; the early launch of major economic projects; and joint cooperation. Mr. Kamilov said the Islamic Emirate's rule in Afghanistan had opened a new chapter in relations between the two countries, and it is gratifying to see that, through these relations, joint talks are being held on Afghanistan's economic reconstruction and strengthening its economic system. He added that Tashkent will host an international conference on Afghanistan next July, to which a high-level representative of the Islamic Emirate will also be invited. Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund congratulated Kamilov on his new appointment and welcomed the international conference being convened by Tashkent, calling it a positive step towards building ties. Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund also stressed that Uzbekistan should complete the work on incomplete projects in the fields of electricity and aviation, including the Termez-Kabul-Mazar-e-Sharif-Peshawar railway, as soon as possible. At the end of the meeting, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs stressed the strengthening of relations between the two countries and hoped for further development.
