H.E Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund: Countries Must Respect One Another’s Values and Boundaries

H.E. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, attended today the graduation ceremony of the 17th cohort of the Hazrat Mu’adh bin Jabal (RA) National Military Academy, affiliated with the command of the Hazrat Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah (RA) National Defense University.

The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated the graduates on completing their professional training which, in addition to specialized instruction, included education on the importance of national defense, national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political sovereignty. He urged them to put this spirit and training into practice in order to safeguard Islamic and noble Afghan values and to firmly defend the Islamic system and every inch of the country’s soil. He also emphasized the rectification of intentions, the adoption of piety, and serious attention to the well-being of the people.

The Deputy Prime Minister stated that the Islamic Emirate, within the framework of its economy-oriented policy, believes in regional and international cooperation and is committed to engaging with all countries within the bounds of its principles. He added that safeguarding long-term political and economic interests requires countries to respect one another’s values and boundaries.

He gave good news to investors that, in the coming days, the Islamic Emirate will grant full tax exemptions ranging from one to five years to both domestic and foreign investors, depending on the scale of their investment in new sectors.

He added that this measure will, on the one hand, accelerate the growth of new sectors and, on the other hand, have a significant impact on the country’s economic development and self-reliance. He further noted that the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has been given firm instructions to expedite land distribution for small, medium, and large industries and to provide the necessary facilities.

The Deputy Prime Minister also stated that the Islamic Emirate and present-day Afghanistan have based their policies on institutions founded upon Islamic Sharia.

He added that Afghanistan neither seeks to harm anyone nor accepts harm from anyone. However, if anyone harbors malicious intentions against it, it will respond without hesitation. History bears witness that this country is not a soft morsel; rather, it is like the tree of Zaqqum. It has made the throats of long-standing empires bitter, and newly born forces will never be able to digest it.

In conclusion, he called on all countries to engage with Afghanistan within the framework of the Islamic Emirate’s values and principles, emphasizing that the energy and resources spent on destroying one another would be better devoted to mutual support and strengthening shared interests.
