Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs meets with Russian Investors

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, met with a delegation of Russian and Afghan investors to deliberate on trade and investment prospects.

The meeting was attended by acting ministers from the Ministries of Housing and Urban Development, Industry and Commerce, and Transport and Civil Aviation, alongside deputy ministers from the Ministries of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, and Public Health. Representatives from the General Directorate of State-Owned Enterprises were also in attendance. The discussions were centered on investment opportunities within the domains of infrastructure, industry, commerce, transport, agriculture, railways, and healthcare, alongside the exploration of potential pathways for collaborative engagement.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister underscored Afghanistan's current provision of extensive opportunities for investment across various sectors. He urged both domestic and international investors to capitalize on these opportunities, highlighting Afghanistan’s abundant natural resources and its viability as an investment hub. He reaffirmed the government's steadfast invitation to local and global investors to investigate and engage in diverse sectors of the Afghan economy.

In response, the Russian investors conveyed a strong interest in investing across a spectrum of sectors in Afghanistan, notably in industry, transport, railways, healthcare, and agriculture. They further expressed their readiness to share their professional expertise with the Islamic Emirate.

Concluding the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister assured the Russian and Afghan investors of comprehensive cooperation from the Islamic Emirate. He encouraged them to conduct market evaluations and commence their initiatives in Afghanistan under conditions of stability and security.
