Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs Meets with British Chargé d'Affaires

H.E Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan met with Mr. Robert Dickson, Chargé d'Affaires of the British Embassy for Afghanistan, in the presence of Hafiz Anas Haqqani, a member of the Political Commission of the Islamic Emirate.
In the meeting, Mr. Dickson highlighted the importance of dialogue between the Islamic Emirate and Britain as a crucial step in addressing key issues. He reaffirmed London's commitment to ongoing discussions and noted that the British government restricts the activities of opposition groups in Afghanistan.
Mr. Robert Dickson underscored the UK’s aspiration for a stable Afghanistan and reiterated its commitment to ongoing collaboration in humanitarian aid and climate change initiatives.
Mr.Dickson stated that the Islamic Emirate's participation in the third Doha meeting was valuable and expressed appreciation for the Afghan delegation's full preparedness regarding the agenda.He also noted that they are monitoring the situation and praised the effective management of emergency relief for those affected by recent natural disasters in Afghanistan, as well as the successful repatriation of refugees from neighboring countries.
Mr. Dickson proposed that bilateral meetings be held to address specific issues and noted that London is working to facilitate the establishment of relations between the Islamic Emirate and the Western world.
Mr.Anas Haqqani a member of the political commission of IEA expressed gratitude for the UK's assistance to Afghanistan and said that the presence of the Chargé d'Affaires in Kabul is valuable. He emphasized that the establishment of comprehensive security in Afghanistan has created a more favorable environment for the activities of foreign diplomats.
Mr. Haqqani highlighted the potential for effective collaboration between Kabul and London to address pressing issues. He also noted the Afghan Embassy's important role in offering consular services to Afghan citizens and called for enhanced cooperation.
H.E Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs warmly welcomed the Chargé d'Affaires of the British Embassy and expressed appreciation for his efforts to strengthen relations between Kabul and London.
The Deputy Prime Minister indicated that there is a significant focus on human rights in the country, and the Islamic Emirate is devoted to intensifying its efforts in this regard.
He mentioned that the Islamic Emirate has fulfilled its commitments, achieving the complete eradication of poppy cultivation and drug trade in Afghanistan, while effective addiction treatment remains underway.
At the conclusion, Deputy Prime Minister underscored the importance of continuing positive relations between Kabul and London.
