H.E. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, attended the turban-tying and graduation ceremony of the first group of graduates of Al-Jami‘ah Al-Islamiyah Darul Uloom Kandahar in Kandahar Province.
The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the crucial role of Islamic madrasas as pillars of social reform, religious education, jihad, intellectual development, and the Islamic movement. He noted that scholars, alongside ordinary citizens, made significant sacrifices to end the twenty-year occupation of Afghanistan, and that as a result of these sacrifices, an Islamic system now governs the country.
He called on scholars to use religious wisdom to guide the public with gentleness, avoiding sarcasm or harsh speech. The Deputy Prime Minister further emphasized that the Islamic Emirate believes in inclusive political and economic participation for the country’s comprehensive development—a participation strengthened over the past four years and based on the advice of scholars, academics, and professional staff.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs stated that Afghanistan’s current political authority is more stable and balanced than in the past. Parallel political currents and opposing forces that threatened national decisions within the system and government have been eliminated. In addition, administrative participation, transparency, economic infrastructure, public service delivery, and national satisfaction have all increased.
He called on the international community to actively engage with Afghanistan and make appropriate use of the Islamic Emirate’s potential and strong resolve within regional and global frameworks. He underscored that a politically and economically secure Afghanistan offers a great opportunity for all, and that no one should turn these opportunities into threats.
H.E. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund congratulated the one thousand graduates and their families, urging them to act upon their knowledge and impart it to the people.
