National Procurement Commission Approves Eight Projects Valued at Approximately 2.5 Billion Afghanis

Chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the National Procurement Commission has sanctioned contracts for eight projects totaling approximately 2.5 billion Afghanis, alongside amendments to 13 others.

During its regular session at the Marble Palace, the National Procurement Commission reviewed 29 projects as per the agenda. Of these, contracts for eight projects received approval, 13 underwent amendments, two were annulled, and six were rejected due to procurement irregularities.

For the six rejected projects, designated committees have been assigned to assess the contracts in accordance with procurement principles and submit their findings to the Commission's leadership.

The approved and amended projects encompass the maintenance and care of the Dahla Dam in Kandahar province, the completion of the unfinished cancer treatment center at Ali Abad Hospital of Kabul Medical University, the construction of transportation terminals in Daman district and Bagh-e Pul area of Kandahar province, the completion of remaining sections of the Kabul–Kandahar highway, and several other initiatives financed by the Islamic Emirate.
