A joint meeting held between government ministries, agencies and national traders

On Wednesday, October 18th, a meeting was held at Marmarin Palace, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund. The gathering brought together relevant government ministries, agencies, and national traders to discuss the quality of oil and gas and address prevalent issues in this sector.

Kicking off the meeting, the esteemed Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund acknowledged the significant contribution of Afghan national businessmen to the country's economic progress. He emphasized the ongoing role they play in the nation's development and urged them to maintain honesty in their endeavors. He called upon them to prioritize the importation of high-quality oil and gas and other goods to safeguard the environment and public health.

Subsequently, national oil and gas traders expressed their gratitude to the officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan for creating a secure business environment and offering comprehensive support. They candidly shared their concerns about issues related to oil and gas quality control, taxation, company usernames with the MoF, domestic oil refineries, and customs. These traders requested fair treatment in the oil and gas import, particularly when it marginally falls short of established standards. They believed that this approach would not only lead to increased oil and gas imports but also prevent harm to traders.

In closing, Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund assured the national oil and gas traders of his support and instructed the relevant ministries and agencies to work collaboratively towards finding suitable solutions.
