His Highness the Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him), aiming to improve the process of assistance for returnees and accelerate land distribution, and to ensure the proper implementation of his latest directives, guided the convening of a meeting of the High Commission for Addressing Refugee Issues today. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, and attended by all members of the commission.
A few days earlier in Kandahar, His Highness the Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him), during a special meeting with the leadership and members of the High Commission, directed that wheat and cash support from the reserves of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock be distributed to forcibly repatriated families. He also instructed the Afghan Red Crescent and the Natural Disaster Management Authority to provide winter assistance packages using available resources to support these families during the current winter.
Likewise, His Highness the Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him) directed the officials of the High Commission to expedite the establishment of townships and the distribution of land for the construction of shelters for returnees. The distribution process is to be accelerated for all forcibly repatriated families.
During today’s meeting, the commission discussed mechanisms and made key decisions to ensure the effective implementation of the guidance of His Highness the Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him) regarding the acceleration of both assistance and land distribution. As a result, the delivery of aid to returnees by relevant government institutions and charitable organizations is expected to become faster, more efficient, and better coordinated.
