Under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the National Procurement Commission approved contracts for 31 projects worth approximately 5 billion Afghanis and amended 7 others. The regular meeting of the National Procurement Commission has been held today, August 21 at Marmarin Palace, where 40 projects were presented for approval according to the agenda. Out of these, contracts for 31 projects were approved, 7 were amended, one was canceled, and the relevant committee was tasked with renegotiating the cost of one project with the contracting company and submitting their report to the leadership of the National Procurement Commission.
The approved and amended projects include the completion of the remaining work on the Ab Gardan Storage Dam in Badghis province, the rehabilitation of a turbine at the Naghlu Power Plant, the provision of electrical equipment in various provinces, the provision of high-quality and fast telecommunications and internet services to citizens, the delivery of services at various customs across the country, the completion of a major water supply network in Qala-e-Naw city in Badghis province, among others. These projects are funded by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
