A regular meeting of the Economic Commission was held today at the Marble Palace under the chairmanship of H.E. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.
During the meeting, the Commission discussed the implementation guidelines for tax and customs exemptions aimed at encouraging and attracting new domestic and foreign investment. Following deliberations, the designated committee was tasked with convening technical meetings to further refine the guidelines and submit the finalized version at the next meeting of the Economic Commission.
The meeting also approved a proposal for the construction of a commercial market on municipal land in Taloqan, the capital of Takhar Province. Under the proposal, the private sector will invest AFN 110 million in the construction of a seven-storey commercial market, which is expected to create employment opportunities for dozens of citizens.
Reports on a number of follow-up matters were also presented to the Economic Commission, and the relevant institutions were provided with the necessary directives.
The above decisions were referred to the Office of His Highness the Amir al-Mu'minin, Sheikh Sahib (May Allah Protect Him), for final approval.
