The Chief of Staff of the Office of the Prime Minister Meets with a Number of Influential Figures and Elders from Nuristan

The Chief of Staff of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi, convened a meeting this morning at the Arg with a number of influential figures and elders from Nuristan Province.
During the meeting, which was also attended by the Head of Political and Public Affairs, Sheikh Mahmood Zakiri, Mawlawi Samiullah and Enayatullah, speaking on behalf of the people of Nuristan, recalled the efforts, hardships, and sacrifices of the people of Nuristan during the period of jihad and stated that they stand in support of their Islamic Sharia-based government.
The speakers noted that, due to the complex geography of Nuristan and the lack of attention by previous governments to development projects, infrastructure construction, and service delivery, the people continue to live in conditions of deprivation and hardship. They further stated that, as a result of continued past attacks by the Pakistani military regime, the lives of Nuristan residents have become extremely difficult, and some families have been displaced from their areas and villages.
They presented their proposals and requests aimed at addressing the problems of the people of Nuristan, including the construction of major roads, schools, madrasas, and clinics, the return of displaced families, and the division of Kamdesh District into two districts.
In welcoming them, Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi stated that the Islamic Emirate accords special attention to resolving the problems of residents across all provinces, particularly in Nuristan, Badakhshan, Kunar, and other remote and underdeveloped areas.
Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi further stated that, alongside notable progress, service delivery, and achievements in various sectors, the Islamic Emirate has, over the past five years, approved the establishment of new districts in different provinces to better address the needs of the population, including two districts in Nuristan Province.
In conclusion, Dr. Mullah Abdul Wasi stated that, due to the past fifty years of war, instability, and destruction, numerous challenges exist across all sectors, and officials are making continuous efforts to address them. He also assured them that their requests and concerns would be shared with the relevant authorities for necessary action.
