The Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, His Excellency Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi, during his visit to Sar-e-Pul Province, visited Sar-e-Pul University, accompanied by the Governor of Sar-e-Pul and a number of local officials, and delivered a speech at a gathering.
His Excellency stated that, for the establishment of a Sharia law-based government, a half-century struggle between truth and falsehood had taken place. During the occupation by the former Soviet Union, all segments of society, including religious scholars, university professors, and other citizens, participated in this struggle, and as a result of the legitimate struggle and the sacrifices of the Afghan people, the occupying forces withdrew from Afghanistan.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs stated that, after the victory, the Mujahideen of Afghanistan and the local authorities at that time were unable to reach an agreement; as a result of their disagreements and pursuit of power, the country became involved in internal conflicts.
His Excellency Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi added that, at that time, a number of sincere Mujahideen, under the leadership of His Highness Mullah Muhammad Omar Mujahid, rose to end the civil war and ensure the security of the country, and within a short period cleared most parts of the country of armed groups, resulting in the establishment of security and the elimination of warlordism and corruption.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs stated that, thereafter, Western forces occupied the country under various pretexts, and during this period as well, the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan continued their struggle. In the path of the country’s freedom, many religious scholars, Qur’an reciters, students, and Mujahideen were martyred; many others were imprisoned in detention centers such as Guantanamo; and numerous crimes were committed against the Afghan people.
His Excellency Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi stated that, as a result of the sacrifices of the Afghans, the country was liberated from occupation and a Sharia law-based government was established.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs added that, currently, security and peace prevail in the country; a general amnesty has been declared by His Highness, the Amir-ul-Mominin (may Allah Almighty protect him); and major development projects are underway across all sectors.
His Excellency Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi emphasized education and higher studies, stating that universities must facilitate scientific advancement in all fields such as agriculture, computer science, and engineering. He also described the capacity building of professors and students as an important matter and called for serious attention to this area.
Addressing the students, the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs stated: “You are the builders of the nation, and we must not wait for foreigners for reconstruction and development; rather, we must build Afghanistan ourselves.”
His Excellency Mawlavi Abdul Salam Hanafi added that the Islamic Emirate is striving to provide better facilities for experienced professors and students so that they can pursue their education effectively and acquire specialization.
He further emphasized that, in the Islamic Emirate, there is no place for prejudice, regionalism, or ethnic discrimination, and anyone who engages in such practices is considered an opponent of the Islamic Emirate. In conclusion, he stressed unity and mutual respect among all.
