The Chahar Chinar Palace is located in the southwestern part of the Arg Fortress, between the Koti Baghche and the former archive building, facing four large Chinars (Plane tree). The palace consists of three floors. Construction of the Chahar Chinar Palace began in 2008 and was completed in 2010. The project was funded by the People's Republic of China and built by Chinese engineers.
The Chahar Chinar Palace was built to serve as a venue for conferences and official gatherings. The first floor, being quite large, accommodates various events, such as Cabinet meetings. It also hosts press conferences, signing ceremonies for national projects, meetings with the public, government officials, and employees, as well as celebrations for national and religious holidays, among other functions. The palace was officially inaugurated in 2010.
